How to use your card of the day
The card of the day is one tarot card drawn for today and kept until tomorrow, a theme to notice rather than a forecast.
Free daily tarot is the smallest way to use the cards: one card of the day, drawn once, as a theme to carry. It does not say what will happen. This page is how to use that single card, from the moment you draw it through the evening.
When to draw
Draw once, at a quiet moment you can actually keep. Morning lets the card sit beside the day, so you notice where its theme shows up in plans you already have. If evening is the only undisturbed time, draw then and let the card close the day instead of opening it.
On this site the same card stays until local midnight on this device. Pick the hour you will remember. A draw you forget until the next day teaches you less.
Upright and reversed
Look at the picture before any written meaning. What is the figure doing, and where does that appear in today's plans? An upright card states its theme in the open. A reversed card is not a bad sign: it turns the same theme inward, or asks you to go more slowly.
Each card's library page gives both readings, for love, work and inner life. Open it when the line under the card is not enough.
Do not redraw
One card a day. Drawing again because you dislike the result undoes the practice: the card you would rather avoid often has the most to say. The card of the day here will not offer a second draw until tomorrow.
A particular question belongs with another spread, not with a second daily card. Three cards can look at where you stand, what is in the way and a next step. The daily card keeps a single theme.
The evening review
In the evening, look at the same card again. Where did its theme show up, and where did it not? Do not draw a new card for the review. Noticing is the whole of it.
Over a few months that habit is how the 78 cards become familiar. Each one has had a day, and you remember what you were doing when it appeared.
When you want today's card, draw it on the card of the day page. It is free and needs no account.
