The Twelve Zodiac Signs

The zodiac divides the Sun's yearly path into twelve 30° signs, starting at the March equinox with Aries. Your Sun sign is the segment the Sun was in when you were born. The signs follow the seasons, not the constellations of the same name, which have drifted about 24° away over the centuries.

A sign describes how something is expressed. Each has an element (fire, earth, air or water), a modality (cardinal, fixed or mutable) and a ruling planet; signs of the same element tend to get on easily.
